The Saints FC Bayern picked up a decisive 2-0 victory at home against Brooklyn United Academy to advance to the third round of State Cup! Bayern opened the scoring 13th minute when Eddie Larsen found Vayden Keith, who broke away from his defender and found himself on a full breakaway. Vayden dragged the ball around a desparate BUA goalkeeper, calmly slotting the ball in the back of the net to make it 1-0.
Despite very windy conditions on an early March day, the Saints managed to have a firm grasp on the game. The boys managed to put the game out of reach in the 73rd minute, when Vayden Keith found Gerardo Lopez, whose wide-cross got picked up by the wind and put into the BUA net - doubling the Saints lead to 2-0.
Bayern advances to the third round of State Cup, where they will travel to Randall's Island to face the French Football Federation Academy of NY on April 5th at 2:00pm. Good luck to the boys and coaches!
